Attending law schools outside of Canada
The Ontario Fair Access To Regulated Professions Act has guaranteed that graduates of law schools outside of Canada have the right to have have their application to enter the lawyer licensing program evaluated according to standards that are:
transparent, objective, etc.
The Law Society of Upper Canada has delegated the evaluation of graduates of foreign law schools to the National Committee on Accreditation (“NCA“).
Of particular interest are the following:
– Frequently Asked Questions:
http://www.flsc.ca/en/foreignLawyers/faq.asp
– NCA Examinations:
http://www.flsc.ca/en/foreignLawyers/ncaExaminations.asp
It is easiest for U.S. and U.K. law school graduates to be admitted to the Ontario bar.
A promise kept.
Does anyone have experience with the NCA appeals process or review for reassessment process?
